Electorock!!!

Unfortunately, the last ten days have flown by and the Thomas family is back in sunny California. First of all, I need to say a quick thank you to Rachel's mother and sister. We're still having some rough nights and they were WONDERFUL this past week. I would not have been able to go to work, otherwise. It's not easy to leave your wife at home when she's been up for 30 hours straight, but Cathy and Ashley happily took Tenzin in the wee hours of the morning (at his fussiest) and let Rachel get some much needed rest. In addition, there were numerous changings, bouncings, feedings, swaddlings, cleanings, wipings, and burpings they helped out with. They were a ton of help.

So what's new? Well, Tenzin, Ashley, Steven and I watched our very first showing of Breakin II: Electric Boogaloo. For those of you that haven't heard of this fine film, it's the story of a local developer trying to bulldoze a community recreation center, and the local breakdancers that are trying to stop it - starring "Turbo," "Ozone," and Kelly (aka "Special K). It is quite possibly the best film ever made.

Why is this important? Because Rachel's brother Steven discovered that Tenzin can breakdance. In one very important scene in the movie, the community center dancers are confronted by a rival "dance gang." They threw a spraypaint can through the window of their community center and Ozone knew immediately who it was, loudly exclaiming "ELECTROCK." A dance battle ineveitably ensues. [Watch Clip]

Steven became obsessed with this scene, loudly mocking Ozone's "Electrock" yell, only to discover that Tenzin would tense up "robotically" every time he would say it. It's kind of karate-meets-C3PO. Needless to say, we had quite a bit of fun with this for the rest of the night. If you'd like to see what this looks like, here's the closest thing I could find (FYI: this is NOT Tenzin)

Funny, eh?

So like I said, this last week has pretty much been controlled insanity. We had the biggest football game of the year (OSU vs. MICHIGAN). Steven did well on Saturday as an honorary Buckeye fan, tailgating like a true professional. The day before that, we had a Turkey Shoot Out at the Columbus Blue Jackets game (vs. Colorado Avalanche), where Steven announced his love for any and all things French Canadian. The girls shopped till they dropped (far less, actually, than I anticipated). We all ate VERY well, thanks to the generosity of the Thomas parents and a last-minute impromptu BBQ at the Thornburg house.. Even Jared and Brandi Sweitzer are in town! Craziness! But I won't bore you with any more details. I know what you're here for. Some more pictures!

Also, the Ofoto Website has also been updated!

All for now...more later!
